Cherrick

Bridge - 8.8k A5 & A2; Neck - 7.2k narrow A5 & A2
The Cherrick set is my take on an overwound vintage P90 flavor and it has become my most popular P90 set.  It was named after the screen name of a customer who bought the second set I ever made with these specs.  (I thought he was the first but by the time I found out otherwise, it was too late -- the name had stuck, and anyway, it does have a ring to it.)

THE BRIDGE has a few turns more than a typical vintage P90 to get some of that midrange grunt we all crave.  A fuller wind and a few other tricks keep away the dreaded icepick.  It’s very dynamic, so it has plenty of hollow vintage jangle when you’re picking lightly but lots of bluesy grunt and growl when you dig in.

THE NECK spec is deceptively low.  It has plenty of punch, enough that I had to resort to narrower bar magnets to keep it from being too heavy.  In fact, 7.2k is the highest spec on any of my neck P90’s for a typical 22-fret guitar, unless the customer strongly insists otherwise -- in which case, check out the P24.
